However, these markets faced a significant decline before 1921. The discovery of oil transformed the financial prospects of the area. Consequently, the museum preserves the history of this industrial expansion. The facility maintains twenty-five thousand square feet of exhibit space. Furthermore, a collection management facility supports the preservation of historical artifacts. A woodland walk and an outdoor park complement the indoor displays.
